Larry Milosh

Coaching ∙ Central Valley

Larry Milosh has excelled as a golfer and as a golf coach, winning many golf championships and coaching many golfers to championships.

In 1980, at King's Grant Country Club in Summerville, SC, Larry won his first of thirteen club championships. Since then, he has won seven club championships at the Beaver Lakes County Club, now known as The Club at Shadow Lakes, and at the Seven Oaks Country Club he won three club championships and two senior club championships. Larry was a local U.S. Open qualifier in 1987, has won seven Serb National Federation National Golf Tournament championships, and holds the course record at Shadow Lakes (62) and shares the course record at Seven Oaks (65).

In 2000, Larry and his lifelong friend and assistant coach Aurelio Bianco started the Center High School girls' golf team. Under Larry's tenure as head coach, the Center / Central Valley girls' golf team won over 100 consecutive section matches, ten section titles, five WPIAL championships, three PIAA state championships (two 2As and one 3A), and the MAC championship an impressive ten years in a row.

Larry has helped guide and develop the skills of many golfers over his career. Over 15 of Larry's golfers earned partial or full college golf scholarships, and eight have played golf for NCAA Division 1 teams. Larry coached two of Central Valley High School's most outstanding student athletes, Macky Fouse, who won the WPIAL and PIAA 2A individual championships in 2013 and his daughter Samantha who played Division 1 golf at St. Francis University in Loretto, PA.

As a golf instructor, Larry continues to expand the development and success of junior golfers. Dozens of high school young men and women from the Tri-State area continue to gain instruction from Coach Larry and have become top high school and college and university athletes. Moreover, Larry and his daughter Samantha won the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association Parent & Child Championship in 2004, 2006, and 2007.

From 1981 through 1990, Larry served as a school psychologist for the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit and the Freedom Area, Ambridge Area, and Monaca School Districts. After leaving education, Larry and his wife invested in 27 acres in Center Township. The Ironwood Golf Center opened in 1995 and has been a strong Beaver County business for 30 years.

Larry has been a lifelong resident of Center Township. He and his wife of 42 years Milana (Milanovich) have two children, Samantha (John) Baldwin and George Milosh, and a grandson Ben Baldwin.
